The survey was a repeat of a similar poll in which ranked the most dangerous countries for women as Afghanistan, Democratic Republic of Congo, Pakistan, India and Somalia. Demographers suggest that a country needs a fertility rate of just over two children per woman to hit "replacement fertility" -- the rate at which new births fill the spaces left behind by deaths. It is estimated that more than million girls and women alive today have undergone female genital mutilation in the countries where the practice is concentrated.
